Bio:
The primary aim of modern warfare (in accordance with the principles of doublethink) is to use up the products of the machine without raising the general standard of living. -1984
C Street Family members Rep. Joe Pitts (R-PA16) and Rep. Bart Stupak (D-MI1)had a plan to strip women of their right to make decisions about their own bodies, and they would have gotten away with it too if it weren't for those darned kids women!
If you were pissed when Joe Wilson shouted YOU LIE at President Obama I want you to channel that same sort of anger and aim it in support of Connie Saltonstall and Lois Herr as they take C Street head on.
While I am very interested in the question of "Who paid Bart Stupak's rent? " I would also like to know who was paying the rent of his roommates. Some of those roommates were . . .
Gov. Mark Sanford (R-SC)
Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC)
Senator John Ensign (R-NV)
Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK)
Rep Zach Wamp (R-TN)
Rep Mike Doyle (D-PA)
Who wants to bet Fox asks Doyle about this but not DeMint, who is the front man for their Tea Party astroturfed Corporatist movement.
But that is not the BIG QUESTION I want to ask Stupak and his Christian Mafia cult members. No, my question to them is . . .
"Should we kill our gays now, or wait until later?"
In what is described by TheWonkRoom over at thinkprogress.org as "a terrifyingly honest assessment of conservative priorities" the GOP "Road Map to America's Future" is exposed for what it is, socialism for the rich.
- Federal taxes would be lower for the richest 10 percent, and higher for all other income groups, than they would be if President Obama's proposals were enacted.
- The bottom 80 percent of taxpayers would pay about $1,700 more, on average, than they would if President Obama's proposals were enacted.
- The richest one percent would pay about $211,300 less on average than they would if President Obama's proposals were enacted.
- The poorest 20 percent would pay 12.3 percent of their income more than what they would pay under the President's proposal, while the richest one percent would pay 15 percent of their income less than they would pay under the President's proposal.
More on this proposal by the party of Mr. Burns beolow the fold.
So it is March, and that means the Meta Pie fight season is now open.
But I have bigger fish to fry.
I have ZERO interest in punching hippies, nor do I care for berating Dems who are more moderate than myself (with some exceptions). I mean no offense to the parties involved, but if that is your thing, good luck to you. I have bigger rotten fish to fry.
Now, having gotten that off of my chest, where do I begin?
I guess you'll have to go below the fold to find out . . . .
PeanutButterPAC is a new Progressive political action committee that was founded by 5 liberal bloggers (Kossacks AnotherMassachussetsLiberal, SomethingTheDogSaid, Spedwybabs, PistolSO and myself). We are talking real grassroots here, none of that Corporate astroturfed malarkey.
Our first goal is to organize a money bomb for Jennifer Brunner, a very progressive candidate in the Ohio Senate race.
I want change we can believe in, but I understand the more important quote "We are the ones we have been waiting for."
(not sure why this didn't make the front page - promoted by admin)
You don't get more Establishment than an Ex-President.
Bill Clinton Throws His Support To Blanche Lincoln
In a boost to embattled Dem Senator Blanche Lincoln - and a bit of a blow to primary challenger Bill Halter - fellow Arkansan Bill Clinton is throwing his support to the incumbent Senator, his spokesman confirms to me.
Halter's entry into the race had kicked off a round of speculation about who Clinton would endorse, given that he hails from the state and remains very popular with Dem primary voters. If Clinton had remained neutral it would have been a big boost to Halter.
Clinton spokesman Matt McKenna tells me, however, that the former President is supporting Lincoln.
"Senator Lincoln asked President Clinton several months ago to support her reelection," McKenna says. "He said he would, and he does."

Sarah Fucking Palin
Katie Couric - But are you ready to become the leader of the free world?
Sarah Palin - Totally. I will totally lead the world. Any world. I will lead Mars or whatever too if those guys need a world president. Or just a Mars president. I took on the ole' boys club in Alaska and I can take it on in Mars.
Katie Couric - But I'm not asking about being president of Mars.
Sarah Palin - But I am answering about being president of Mars because a president person needs to be prepared for anything. I like to reform.
Pass this on, make it a talking point for Democrats, make it viral.
GOOD NEWS! Suck on that, Dick Cheney
Two senior Taliban leaders have been arrested in recent days inside Pakistan, officials said Thursday, as American and Pakistani intelligence agents continued to press their offensive against the group's leadership after the capture of the insurgency's military commander last month.
Afghan officials said the Taliban "shadow governors" for two provinces in northern Afghanistan had been detained in Pakistan. Mullah Abdul Salam, the Taliban's leader in Kunduz, and Mullah Mir Mohammed of Baghlan were captured about two weeks ago in a raid on a house in Akora Khattack, according to a leader at the Dar-ul-Uloom Haqqaniya madrasa there.

If Republicans and Fox News pundits were embarrassed about looking like birthers, loony bins and white supremacists, well, they just got a whole lot more to worry about.
Recently, a truther organization called "We Are The Change" spoke to Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) - a friend of (Glenn) Beck and a frequent guest on his show - about reopening an investigation into 9/11. Chaffetz agreed with the activist, and even noted that he had spoken to professor Steven Jones, leading 9/11 truther, who Chaffetz said had done "interesting work"
This will be, in the proper Progressive vernacular, a short diary.
Simply put, I DEMAND media coverage of America's wars NOW!
If these wars are NOT worth media coverage, they are not worth fighting. If the threat America faces from it's enemies is so great that it is absolutely necessary that we go to war, than it is absolutely necessary that the "free" press gives it ample coverage.
Since the Presidential Primaries back in the Spring of 2008 coverage of America's wars have almost entirely disappeared from the traditional media. With the exception of a few intrepid journalists the traditional media has given us NOTHING as far as details of what is happening in Iraq, Afghanistan or Pakistan except for the times when Dick Cheney emerges from his crypt, when President Obama sent more troops to Afghanistan, when an Iraqi journalist threw his shoes at George Bush's idiot of a son and when Rudy "9/11,9/11,9/11" shows up to collect his royalty fee.
In short, I want DETAILS, and if you're not in the mood you better GET IN THE MOOD, Mister.
Thanks to your help we raised over $10K for Candidates in the 2008 Cycle.
