Democratic Judge Under the Influence of Faux News Switches to Republican Party

by: admin

Tue Aug 31, 2010 at 17:19:26 PM CDT

The gun wielding Jefferson County Domestic Relations Judge Suzanne Childers  announced today   she is joining the Republican party. Faux News made her do it apparently.

Childers said Tuesday that she started watching the conservative-oriented Fox News Channel and increasingly found herself agreeing with what its commentators said.

Childers continues

"It's been a gradual progression," Childers said. "I have become more and more aware that my values, principles and ideas are more parallel with the Republican Party."

In a statement, Childers said the switch was "in the people's" best interest.

"It's in the people's best interest if I remain a judge," she said when asked to explain her statement.

Another Right Wing Shooting; News and Links

by: Curtis Abbey

Mon Jul 19, 2010 at 13:28:02 PM CDT

Lets see if I remember how to do this. Sorry y'all for the hiatus but I've been pretty busy with my new job and helping to run a facebook page called Progress For A More Perfect Union. Check it out! :)

#1 We've got another political motivated shooting. This time a right winger shot at the California Highway Patrol as they attempted to pull him over.

She said her son, who had been a carpenter and a cabinetmaker before his imprisonment, was angry about his unemployment and about "what's happening to our country."

Williams watched the news on television and was upset by "the way Congress was railroading through all these left-wing agenda items," his mother said.(...)
Janice Williams said she kept the guns because "eventually, I think we're going to be caught up in a revolution." But she said she had told her son many times that "he didn't have to be on the front lines."

Luckily no one was killed. How many more times does this have to happen before the media picks up on the trend? You know what would have happened by now if these were left wing shooters. Fox News is having a field day over something called the New Black Panthers party, that supposedly is made up of about 12 people. At this pace we may have 12 violent right wingers to make up a terrorist New White Panthers party by the end of Obama's presidency.

#2 Obama to stump for Progressiveelectorate.com Senate candidate Alexi Giannoulias who is running for Obama's old seat in Illinois.

#3 Bob Schieffer responds to Fox News attacks that he's holding water for President Obama. They claim he did not ask Eric Holder about the New Black Panther drama to protect Obama.

"Frankly, had I known about that, I would have asked the question," Schieffer said. "I was on vacation that week. This happened -- apparently, it got very little publicity. And, you know, I just didn't know about it. I mean, you know, God knows everything, but I'm not quite that good. Every once in a while, something will slip by me. And in this case, it just slipped by me. If I'd have known it, I would have asked about it."

OK. Left wing activists take note. CBS will aire right wing nonsense scandals if they harp on it enough. This is where Democrats struggle, we don't communicate our talking points well. On one of the sites I go to, it's actually discouraged to repeat a story that someone else has already blogged about. That's a mistake if we want to get our messages out effectively. This NBPP scandal is another win for the dark side. We need to learn this lesson or continue to be railroaded. I've talked about this before, right wing media has been amazingly successful at getting their "Democrats Lose Big in 2010" story into nearly every political pundit's mouth. That's a huge PR loss for us as we have to now play defense and describe "how we're not going to lose" instead of "how we will win." This is craziness but we have to learn to play this game.

#4 The Teaparty is having some internal conflicts as the Tea Party Express and the Tea Party Federation go at it.

On Sunday, the Tea Party Federation, an umbrella organization, expelled the Tea Party Express over the actions of one of its leaders, Mark Williams.

The Tea Party Express fired back Monday with a statement excoriating the Tea Party Federation for its "arrogant" decision to expel the group after Williams posted a highly controversial satirical "letter" he wrote from NAACP head Ben Jealous to President Abraham Lincoln.

"Most rank-and-file tea party activists think we're talking about 'Star Trek' when we try to explain who the 'Federation' is," said Tea Party Express spokesman Joe Wierzbicki. "Given the absurdity of the actions by the 'Federation,' this is quite fitting, since their conduct is alien to our membership."

#5 David Vitter's days in the Senate may be numbered. He's run into an extremely qualified challenger from his own side of the aisle. Meet Chet Traylor

the first Republican elected to Louisiana's Supreme Court since Reconstruction, made a last-minute decision to take on Vitter after a fresh scandal for the first-term lawmaker: An aide had remained on Vitter's payroll after pleading guilty to charges stemming from a knife-wielding incident with an ex-girlfriend.

"In the weeks leading right up to the campaign, people just wanted an alternative," said Traylor, 64, an Army veteran and former state trooper who later became a lawyer and a judge.

Glenn Beck calls Fox Owner a 9/11 terrorist! He is going to get FIRED for this!

by: MinistryOfTruth

Thu Jun 03, 2010 at 19:04:33 PM CDT

It finally happened. Glenn Beck has gone too far for his right wing owners. How do I know that? Because he just blamed 9/11 on one of the guys who pays his salary.

Watch the video here.

The guy Beck is blaming for 9/11 is one of his bosses, Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, who just happens to be the largest stockholder of Fox News who isn't a member of majority owner Rupert Murdoch's family.

Calling your boss a terrorist who is responsible for 9/11 can't be good for your job security, can it?

How to throw Rosa Parks off the bus, by John Stossel and Rand Paul

by: MinistryOfTruth

Thu May 20, 2010 at 17:01:19 PM CDT

STOSSEL: because private businesses ought to get to discriminate.

~snip~

(I)t should be their right to be racist.

"I want my country back"

Back to when? 1963? or 1910? or 1810?

When Rosa Parks was thrown off of a bus for refusing to sit in the back in accordance with discriminatory Jim Crow laws it helped begin the Civil Rights movement.

It was racist then, and it would still be racist now.

Except, of course, if you are a libertarian or a Republican.

In the last 24 hours, both Kentucky Senate candidate Rand Paul and Fox News Corp employee John Stossel have made the case that it is OKAY to throw Rosa Parks off the bus if it is owned by a private business.

Glenn Beck POUTRAGED over Nazi comparisons made by people who are not Glenn Beck

by: MinistryOfTruth

Wed Apr 28, 2010 at 11:10:38 AM CDT

Yesterday, Glenn Beck expressed POUTRAGE that anyone would compare something to Nazi Germany, that is, anyone not named Glenn Beck.

When Democrat Jared Polis (CO-2) compared Arizona's new "Breathing while Latino" law ( as Fox's Shep Smith calls it ) to the Nazi tactic of demanding papers be presented at all times or face arrest, Glenn Beck started to cry.

Glenn Beck:     "Are you comparing the systematic cold blooded extermination of millions of Jews to America making sure that people are here legally?

No, Glenn Beck, you moron. Jared Polis is comparing the law that required that anyone suspected of being a Jew in Nazi Germany must show documentation or face imprisonment to the new Arizona law that requires anyone suspected of being an illegal immigrant to show their documentation or face imprisonment.

F U, Sean Hannity. Timothy McVeigh was a killer bathed in American blood. HAVE YOU NO SHAME?

by: MinistryOfTruth

Thu Apr 01, 2010 at 17:39:34 PM CDT

No. They have no shame. It is the job of those who are repulsed by the Timothy McVeighs of the world to shame them.

A few days ago Eric Boehlert of MediaMatters.org asked this question.

It's a chilling prospect, but one that seems more and more plausible: What if Fox News actually wants mob violence?

My answer: Yes

Today, Sean Hannity called the astroturfed sheep of billionaire financed tea partiers "Tim McVeigh wannabees" as if it were a compliment, and they actually cheered him.

Watch . . .

HANNITY: When you think about the vast majorities that they have in Congress and they had to bribe, backroom deals, corruption, that's all because the tea party movement, the people - all these Tim McVeigh wannabes here.

   (CHEERS AND APPLAUSE)

dailykos.com

So now the right is cheering for Timothy McVeigh? Is there anything more UnAmerican than praising an enemy of the Democratically elected United States Government?

This is where the line must be drawn. If not now, when?

So here is some Fair and Balanced news for tea partiers, Conservatives, Republican politicians, Fox News and right wing pundits:

Timothy McVeigh was a psychotic killer bathed in the blood of innocent Americans. McVeigh stood for everything our founding fathers fought against, and if you can not denounce violence and eliminationist rhetoric against you fellow Americans you have no right to call yourself an American patriot.

I'm mad as hell. More below the fold

Anthony Weiner OWNS Fox and Friends

by: Curtis Abbey

Wed Mar 03, 2010 at 14:10:35 PM CST

Congressman Anthony Weiner from the Bronx just dismantled 7 straight minutes of all the catchiest Republican talking points this morning on Fox and Friends. WOW! I usually don't get into the cheesy internet headlines that fall into the form ____ DOMINATES ____ or _____ ANNIHILATES________. But this time I just couldn't help myself. This is the best piece of political video I've seen in a year!

The only thing that could have been better is if Steve Doocey was there to really throw in some stupid where it don't belong. I can see why they kept him off that interview!

Send Anthony Weiner some love. Even $1 sends a message. Donate to Congressman Weiner through our ActBlue page.

Michael Steele loves, LOVES "Obama is a racist "

by: MinistryOfTruth

Wed Jan 06, 2010 at 16:59:26 PM CST

Remember when FOX employee Glenn Beck said that "President Obama is a racist who hates white people and white culture."?

Well, the Republican party officially agrees with that now.

Listen as Republican party leader Micheal Steele states how much he Loves, LOVES Glenn Beck.

What's Wrong With Glenn Beck

by: joerubyoswald

Sun Nov 29, 2009 at 18:40:54 PM CST

(Thanks for the diary. Very good synopsis of Glenn Beck.   - promoted by admin)

http://www.progressforamoreper...

The following is clipped from a conversation I was having with an ideological opponent, so if it seems short, crude, or incomplete, that is why. Still a good summary of my feelings on the subject:

...it is a sad testament to Beck that despite watching his show, having heard his radio show, and reading his book (Common Sense), I can't actually argue against any of his political positions, because he doesn't really have any, which is what my problem with him in short boils down to. He admits himself to being a rodeo clown entertainer, and if that is all he was worth, I wouldn't even care about him. Unfortunately, he presents himself and some perceive him to be a credible news source or a fair and legitimate pundit opinion.

Glenn Beck Turns Down The Idea Of A Palin-Beck 2012 Ticket

by: Curtis Abbey

Thu Nov 26, 2009 at 15:00:11 PM CST

Beck wants the top of the ticket for himself.
From ThinkProgress

Transcript from Huffington Post
BECK: I don't think things are hoots. I don't. I don't think it's a hoot. I would never use the word hoot, and I respectfully ask that every time my name is brought up she would stop using the word 'hoot.' [...]

No, no I'm just saying -- Beck-Palin, I'll consider. But Palin-Beck -- can you imagine, can you imagine what an administration with the two of us would be like? What? Come on! She'd be yapping or something, and I'd say, "I'm sorry, why am I hearing your voice? I'm not in the kitchen."

Fox News Apologizes For Using Wrong Crowd Footage, AGAIN!

by: Curtis Abbey

Thu Nov 19, 2009 at 12:53:24 PM CST

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice in two weeks, shame on... Fox News? Remember two weeks ago when Jon Stewart busted Sean Hannity for using 9/12 rally footage to pump up Bachmann's November rally of hate? We called it Hannity and Friends, but Not as Many Friends as it Seems. Sean apologized for the 'error'. No possible way it was an error. It's very hard to put in the wrong footage even on local TV. I find it very hard to believe this could happen on accident on national TV... twice!

O'Reilly Throws Temper Tantrum Because Hannity's Palin Interview Aired First

by: Curtis Abbey

Thu Nov 19, 2009 at 12:30:30 PM CST

h/t HuffingtonPost
The Wrap's Dylan Stableford reports that Sarah Palin has caused tension inside the halls of Fox News - namely, between its two biggest primetime stars, Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity.

Both hosts landed interviews with Palin, and both filmed their interviews Tuesday. But Hannity's is set to air Wednesday, while O'Reilly's will air in three parts: Thursday, Friday, and Monday nights.

Stableford quotes a Fox News insider as saying O'Reilly had a "hissyfit" over the fact that Hannity's interview with Palin would air first, so he released the following teaser of his Palin interview on his YouTube channel, a move Stableford characterized as "going rogue" and a "pre-emptive strike."

This is very middle school of them... it really shows how they've grown up in front of our eyes, from juveniles to adolescents, now they're just two raging bags of hormones with microphones fighting over who's girlfriend is the hunting lady who can't think good.
