Anthony Weiner OWNS Fox and Friends

by: Curtis Abbey

Wed Mar 03, 2010 at 14:10:35 PM CST

Congressman Anthony Weiner from the Bronx just dismantled 7 straight minutes of all the catchiest Republican talking points this morning on Fox and Friends. WOW! I usually don't get into the cheesy internet headlines that fall into the form ____ DOMINATES ____ or _____ ANNIHILATES________. But this time I just couldn't help myself. This is the best piece of political video I've seen in a year!

The only thing that could have been better is if Steve Doocey was there to really throw in some stupid where it don't belong. I can see why they kept him off that interview!

Send Anthony Weiner some love. Even $1 sends a message. Donate to Congressman Weiner through our ActBlue page.

Michael Steele loves, LOVES "Obama is a racist "

by: MinistryOfTruth

Wed Jan 06, 2010 at 16:59:26 PM CST

Remember when FOX employee Glenn Beck said that "President Obama is a racist who hates white people and white culture."?

Well, the Republican party officially agrees with that now.

Listen as Republican party leader Micheal Steele states how much he Loves, LOVES Glenn Beck.

More below the fold, and two questions for every Republican candidate in 2010 as well . . . .

Bill O'Reilly Calls Out Laura Ingraham: "Blind Ideologue" "Kool Aid Drinker"

by: Curtis Abbey

Sat Dec 19, 2009 at 14:56:31 PM CST

Thanks to ThinkProgress for the video

LOL! Is Bill-O now too centrist for the rabid right because he was polite to President Obama during his interview last fall? I wonder if this has legs, Ingraham was shocked, will she respond?

What's Wrong With Glenn Beck

by: joerubyoswald

Sun Nov 29, 2009 at 18:40:54 PM CST

(Thanks for the diary. Very good synopsis of Glenn Beck.   - promoted by admin)

http://www.progressforamoreper...

The following is clipped from a conversation I was having with an ideological opponent, so if it seems short, crude, or incomplete, that is why. Still a good summary of my feelings on the subject:

...it is a sad testament to Beck that despite watching his show, having heard his radio show, and reading his book (Common Sense), I can't actually argue against any of his political positions, because he doesn't really have any, which is what my problem with him in short boils down to. He admits himself to being a rodeo clown entertainer, and if that is all he was worth, I wouldn't even care about him. Unfortunately, he presents himself and some perceive him to be a credible news source or a fair and legitimate pundit opinion.

Glenn Beck Turns Down The Idea Of A Palin-Beck 2012 Ticket

by: Curtis Abbey

Thu Nov 26, 2009 at 15:00:11 PM CST

Beck wants the top of the ticket for himself.
From ThinkProgress

Transcript from Huffington Post
BECK: I don't think things are hoots. I don't. I don't think it's a hoot. I would never use the word hoot, and I respectfully ask that every time my name is brought up she would stop using the word 'hoot.' [...]

No, no I'm just saying -- Beck-Palin, I'll consider. But Palin-Beck -- can you imagine, can you imagine what an administration with the two of us would be like? What? Come on! She'd be yapping or something, and I'd say, "I'm sorry, why am I hearing your voice? I'm not in the kitchen."

Fox News Apologizes For Using Wrong Crowd Footage, AGAIN!

by: Curtis Abbey

Thu Nov 19, 2009 at 12:53:24 PM CST

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice in two weeks, shame on... Fox News? Remember two weeks ago when Jon Stewart busted Sean Hannity for using 9/12 rally footage to pump up Bachmann's November rally of hate? We called it Hannity and Friends, but Not as Many Friends as it Seems. Sean apologized for the 'error'. No possible way it was an error. It's very hard to put in the wrong footage even on local TV. I find it very hard to believe this could happen on accident on national TV... twice!

O'Reilly Throws Temper Tantrum Because Hannity's Palin Interview Aired First

by: Curtis Abbey

Thu Nov 19, 2009 at 12:30:30 PM CST

h/t HuffingtonPost
The Wrap's Dylan Stableford reports that Sarah Palin has caused tension inside the halls of Fox News - namely, between its two biggest primetime stars, Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity.

Both hosts landed interviews with Palin, and both filmed their interviews Tuesday. But Hannity's is set to air Wednesday, while O'Reilly's will air in three parts: Thursday, Friday, and Monday nights.

Stableford quotes a Fox News insider as saying O'Reilly had a "hissyfit" over the fact that Hannity's interview with Palin would air first, so he released the following teaser of his Palin interview on his YouTube channel, a move Stableford characterized as "going rogue" and a "pre-emptive strike."

This is very middle school of them... it really shows how they've grown up in front of our eyes, from juveniles to adolescents, now they're just two raging bags of hormones with microphones fighting over who's girlfriend is the hunting lady who can't think good.

Bob Beckel Shuts Bill Kristol Up! A Real Democrat On Fox News?

by: Curtis Abbey

Tue Nov 03, 2009 at 23:16:46 PM CST

I had to turn on Fox News to see how they were going to either spin or cry about Hoffman's loss in New York's 23rd district. This was their big deal. Their teabag thing was behind Hoffman as well as their darling Palin. Everyone in the media is on a huge push to claim this is a referendum on Obama. But the exit polls proved that wrong before Bill Owens laid a smackdown on the entire thing. This delicious win, first time a D will hold this chair since we had less than forty states is just amazing! So when I went over to Fox News I saw an actual Democrat, Bill Beckel. And, they let him speak!! And when he did he turned that fake Kristol smile from the level of happy three-year-old finds candy back down to its normal level of super smug neocon war merchant with cheesy douche smile.

58% blame Bush for the economy according to FOX poll

by: MinistryOfTruth

Sat Oct 31, 2009 at 18:35:48 PM CDT

I hope this helps keep you in a good mood on a rainy (in NY) Saturday night. This poll comes courtesy of FOX propaganda of all places. I am surprised they even published it.

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

Might I be so bold as to suggest that Republican dreams of a repeat of 1994 are high overrated. Because I will, and gladly.

In a classic case of a broken clock actually telling the right time, FOX has pointed out for us that, despite the Right Wing Noise Machines best efforts, most Americans have memories that last longer than the 24 hour news cycle.

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

Not only do Americas actually remember who destroyed our nations economy, they also remember what political party they belonged to.

Grayson Stalked By O'Reilly Producer, says Except FOX, everyone else follows rules

by: MinistryOfTruth

Wed Oct 28, 2009 at 22:43:10 PM CDT

Grayson, who has been very critical of Fox News, was ambushed by Fox News' Griff Jenkins, who wanted a comment regarding Grayson calling Fed adviser Linda Robertson a "K Street whore,"

HuffingtonPost.com

Grayson is going to need some Big Back up if he is going to be able to hold his ground in the face of the Right Wing smear machine.

Fox Isn't News Is News. The War On The War On Fox

by: Curtis Abbey

Fri Oct 23, 2009 at 14:28:06 PM CDT

Here's the story. President Obama and his staff were elected because they have great minds and are willing to use them critically. Well it doesn't take a great mind to see that Fox isn't news. We've been talking about that for years on this website. It's Faux, It's Fux, It's Fixed News, It's Sux Neus. The point is they have an agenda and are not fair or balanced. The White House stated this obvious fact, after years of 24/7 attacks and negative framing of their campaign and presidency.

The responses thus far have been in two categories.

#1 Opponents: Don't say that, name calling, slippery slope
#2 Media: It is improper to say that, your words make people sad
#3 Unicorns: Fox is News

Conservative Think Tanker Embarassed By Al Franken

by: Curtis Abbey

Thu Oct 22, 2009 at 06:19:32 AM CDT

The Young Turks found this video of Al Franken laying the smackdown to a Hudson Institute stooge Diana Furchtgott-Roth. She was trying to scaremonger that the public option would increase medical bankruptcies, but was rejected by the logical and knowledgeable Senator.

AF: I wanna ask you, how many bankruptcies because of medical crisis were there last year in Switzerland?
DFR: I don't have that number for you but I could get back to you.
AF: I can tell you how many it was. It was zero. Do you know how many medical bankruptcies there were last year in France?
DFR: I don't have that number for you but I could get back to you if you like.
AF: Ya it's zero.

Grayson: "Fox News... Certainly The Enemy Of Peace"

by: Curtis Abbey

Wed Oct 21, 2009 at 20:04:36 PM CDT

That was just one of a host of new lines that Rep. Grayson threw out there tonight on the Ed Show. My other favorite was when he said the party of No has become the party of Nobody.

Progressive Lunch Links To Chew On

by: Curtis Abbey

#1 South Carolina Needs To Stop The Stupidity by Brian Hicks of the Post And Courier.
Let's get this straight: The White House has allowed first lady Michelle Obama to tool around Moscow, the Czech Republic and even Ghana in the past year, but officials are a little worried about her coming to South Carolina...
A loudmouthed minority of Neanderthals and sore losers have so poisoned the national discourse with their racist rantings, crude jokes and veiled threats that they have sullied South Carolina's reputation more than any governor, congressman or senator could ever imagine.

This is a much needed call for civility and a return to the custom of southern hospitality.

#2 For Profit insurance denies a toddler coverage for being underweight. This is just another of thousands of examples of why the free market can not be left to its own devices with our health insurance. It has failed for decades. We need a public insurance choice.

#3 Fox News is being debated right now in the mainstream. Do they have any redeeming news values, or is there an agenda for the entire network? Greta is defending herself as unbiased, the good people at the Huffington Post have compiled The Ten Most Egregious Fox News Distortions More discussion at Huffington Post

#4 Nicole Sandler, a great Progressive host on Air America discusses medical marijuana and all things marijuana with guest Bruce Mirken of the Marijuana Policy Project. This is in light of the recent guidelines issued by the DOJ to federal prosecutors. They advised not to prosecute anyone who was in appliance with state laws on medical marijuana usage.

#5 Looks like Diaper David Vitter is beating Blue Dog Charlie Melancon in Louisiana by a good margin 47-35 in early polls.

#6 North Carolina Senator Burr touts funds from the Stimulus that he voted against. This is quite a common occurrence these days, I wonder if we could craft a second stimulus of just things like what Republicans have touted in their own districts.

#7 Bernard Kerik, Rudy Guiliani's Chief of Police and Bush's pick to lead the Department of Homeland Security is in jail.

Fox is going after Obama's picks for his cabinet yet I doubt they will mention one from their side who is now charged with conspiracy, wire fraud and mail fraud.
