If you want a good laugh go down to the Alabama State House sometime. If I would have known what was in store yesterday, I would have gotten a couple bags of popcorn and a Big Gulp at a Gas Station in Prattville and headed over to South Union Street.
It looks like State Sen. Vivian Figures will once again lose in an effort to ban smoking from public places. The vote on this bill was delayed again yesterday after quite a show. The amendments proposed to the bill essentially killed it after a lively opposition lead by none other than Charles Bishop.
Here is an excerpt from Bishops remarks
"When someone can't smoke or have sex in their private office, we're in bad shape," Bishop said. The senator later apologized for what he said was "an attempt at humor, and maybe the wrong kind of humor.
But you can always punch another Legislator on the Statehouse floor and not be carted off to jail and make a mockery out of the State of Alabama. Yeah buddy light one up while you are getting a Lewinsky.
