Update - Sign the ipetition urging Obama to visit Georgia - http://www.ipetitions.com/peti...

While this news is not a deal breaker for our chances in Georgia, it means we've got to work harder. We have just had two days of early voting in Georgia and those numbers are not promising as reported by the AJC .

This should not be a damper but rather a wake up call that we need to volunteer in person if we are close by, help with phone calls if you are far away and donate donate donate if you can.

Please help me reach my goal of turning Georgia Peach to Blue.

admin :: Black Vote Down in Georgia Runoff Early Voting - Wake up CAll
According to Secretary of State Karen Handel, black voters have cast 8,113 of 33,555 ballots, or 24 percent.

In the 45-day period of early voting prior to the general election, African-Americans cast 34.5 percent of advanced ballots. Maintaining enthusiasm in the U.S. Senate runoff has been viewed as the chief hurdle for Democrat Jim Martin, who faces Republican incumbent Saxby Chambliss.

We all know the importance of early voting in helping Obama and Senatorial candidates in a number of states. Will early voting be as helpful in the runoff? That we cannot know, but we need to make sure that we do not get complacent in this race by any means.

Today Bill Clinton is rallying the troops at Clark University. That will certainly help with the young black turnout. Perhaps they will encourage people to go directly to the polls and vote early.

Also, there are number of directed GOTV efforts coming in the next ten days. However, we cannot make those happen without all of us pitching in and helping in whatever way we can. If we can donate great, if we can't then volunteer in some capacity. If you have donated already see if you can do a few dollars more or encourage your friends to do so.

This is a wake up call
