I hope Joe Wilson FAILS. Help Rob Miller out One More Time and 2010 Strategy Session here

Wilson raised $2.7M, Miller $1.7M

The real concern, IMHO, is that Wilson raised >$2M from small dollar donors.

Adam B

Are you going to stand for THAT! The guy who yells "YOU LIE", while lying about it! is beating Rob Miller? Not on our watch, he ain't!

If you can Donate To Rob Miller for Congress (SC-02) today at Act Blue, please do.

If not, no worries, I know times are hard. At least, please Recommend this diary so others can use the links throughout the day, because today is officially Fundraiser Saturday, and I am open to suggestions on how to make a winning strategy for the 2010 Elections.

More below the fold.

MinistryOfTruth :: I hope Joe Wilson FAILS. Help Rob Miller out One More Time and 2010 Strategy Session here
A hat tip to Christian Dem in NC, who brought this to my attention last night.

For someone who is supposedly sorry about yelling "You lie!" at the president, Joe Wilson certainly cashed in on it.

On Sept. 14, Wilson's campaign doled out $52,250 to the Virginia-based digital communications firm Active Engagement for web design and online advertising. On Sept. 16, the campaign paid $42,400 to retain the David All Group - a Washington-based Republican new media firm - to help boost Wilson's profile on Twitter and other social networking sites.

~snip~

All told, the Wilson campaign spent roughly $235,000 on services related to fundraising and communications strategy.

I read Sun-Tzu's "The Art of War" recently, and one of the best things I gained from it was this quote.

When he prepares everywhere he will be weak everywhere

I interpret this as part of Dr. Howard Dean's 50 State strategy, and suggest we attack different districts in different states at random, not haphazardly, but where it is least expected. This will be the focus of some of my upcoming fundraising diaries.

But, for now, I say we send a BIG answer back to Joe Wilson. I will answer his "YOU LIE!" with an equal I WILL MAKE YOU FAIL, and by doing that, I say we up the ante.

Donate To Rob Miller for Congress (SC-02) today at Act Blue

And, just to show you what we could be getting for our effort in South Carolina's 2nd District, watch this video of Rob Miller, and I think you will agree that he is light years better than Ugly Kid Joe Wilson, and South Carolina deserves better. In fact, so does America.

A class act all the way.

If you can help, I say thanks. If not, thank you anyway, and please Rec this up, so others can chip in and help hit the GOP "Lie Factory" where it hurts. If we can bring down their Bachmann's and Wilson's, if we can shoot down their rising stars we can DEMORALIZE THEM, and that is how we will win the long war of ideas.

Because all the Right's ideas = FAIL, and America deserves better.

Thank you,

MoT

42k on a twitter consultant?

In my diary yesterday I ran a poll, over 600 respondents said (4.00 / 2)
Grassley was more important to go after than Bachmann

I think there are 6-7 Senate Races where we can make a BIG difference, and since the Senate is where a LOT of anger is aimed I think we should push the list UP to 20-25 candidates, with at least HALF of them being in the Senate.

Your thoughts? I know you wanted the ActBlue list to be smaller but the Demand seems to be in the Senate, not the House right now

That's a lot (4.00 / 2)
maybe we can work out a compromise. would like to have some Senate candidate agreed. I think 20-25 is way too many and will dilute what we are doing.

See, I'm inclined to think that (4.00 / 2)
it's not the size of the ActBlue page, it's how we use it.

I think 25 is as big as it should get, no bigger, but I don't think having many candidates detracts from what we are doing, in fact, I think it gives us broader appeal.

I agree that there is such a thing as Tooo Much, BUT, I think we can go BIG and have a BIG effect, where as keeping an arbitrary cap at 15 or so hamstrings us on a level.

Don't get me wrong, there IS such a thing as too much, but between the Senate heating up and being focused on and our own hometown races I think we can go up to 25 and not lose focus. If anything, it gives us flexibility and options.

and options are gooood

however also something to be said (4.00 / 2)
about making it competitive to get on our list.

you have to do something to earn our endorsement.

i've wanted to do more of a screening process.

Daily Kos Orange to Blue doesn't put too many candidates on because they want to be able to raise 100k or more for each candidate.

Well, other than the candidates we already have, 5 Sen. Races I see being tight are (4.00 / 2)
DE - Castle (R) v Biden Jr (D)

MO - Blount (R) v Carnahan (D)

NC - Burr (R) v blank (Always a close one)

IO - Grassley (R) v BLANK (people are PISSED at Grassley and he is hovering around 50%, which says he CAN be beat)

NV - Ensign (R) v BLANK - Ensign is going down and this would help us kill two Dodo birds with one stone, cause I want to DUMP REID

I agree we should be selective, but I think we can go to 25 without diluting our cause, but I differ to you and the other admins to further the debate

I don't think (4.00 / 2)
the number of candidates is nearly as important as how we push the candidates. If we're writing fundraising diaries every day just for the sake of fundraising, we're going to get unpopular quickly. We gotta be artful with it.

As far as Senate races go.. I'm with you that the Senate is the spot where we need more Progressives. But it's not clear anyone on that list is Progressive. I guess we should put Carnahan on there, because that's probably the most tossup race out there.

I heard about a Progressive running in the CT-Sen against Dodd as a challenge from the left. Anyone heard about that?

Other Senate race that might be close is Diaper David vs Melancon in LA.

[ Parent ]
Melancon and Carnahan are the two that I've thought about (4.00 / 2)
I agree with Curtis - we don't need to do fundraising diaires every day. especially at this point in the quarter.

It might be better sometimes (4.00 / 2)
to write diaries without donation links.. then if popular add an Update... Thanks for the rec list, if you want to donate here's a link.

hit $1,000 raised for Miller (4.00 / 2)
