Gay Community Upset with Obama? Or media spin?

I just read a CNN article with the headline - Some Gays Say Obama Hasn't Kept Promises .

This sentiment exists apparently despite President Obama taking a step in signing a memorandum extending benefits to same-sex civil union employees.

President Obama made the following statement

"I continue to support measures to bring the full spectrum of equal rights to LGBT Americans," the president said in a proclamation this month. "These measures include enhancing hate crimes laws, supporting civil unions and federal rights for LGBT couples, outlawing discrimination in the workplace, ensuring adoption rights, and ending the existing 'don't ask, don't tell' policy in a way that strengthens our armed forces and our national security."

Although I've seen criticism of Obama for not repealing Don't Ask Don't Tell, remember that he has been in office not even half a year. We face the worst economic crisis this country has seen since the great depression and have learned of grave nuclear threats in Iran.

I would say that President Obama should get credit for what he has done. Keep up the pressure for what he has not yet done but promised. I have no doubt that he is an able competent President that will try and follow through on each of his campaign promises to every community.
